Tableau data types

All fields in Tableau have data types. They are somewhat similar to data types in Pandas. 🐼

• String
• Date
• Date & Time
• Numerical
• Boolean
• Geographic (used with maps)

Tableau guesses each field's data type. You can manually change the data type of a field in the Data pane by clicking on the little icon next to each field.
